BEHOLD!

I give you the amazing STEVE, THE WONDERBEST!

PART GOAT, PART HORSE, PART FELINE. BOW DOWN TO HIM AND HIS GLORIOUS HORNS OF LIGHTNING!

Is he not marvelous? I adore him. I first made Steve a few months back (March) for a banner contest on Beyond Escape. He was much less magnificent then, and got an honorable mention. Wanna see? I wasn't good about credits then, so excuse the lack of them: [link] .

Anyway, I was reading about 's contest, and I decided Steve would be awesome to bring back and enter. Boy did I have a challenge.

I spent hours looking for a good horse picture, as I got it in my head he should be a white draft horse. Literally hours later I came up empty handed. The next day I stumbled upon this picture my accident and completely freaked out. Thus my work began. (I make it sound so important! x^D)

First a drew on his massive mane, tail, beard, forelock, and feathers strand by strand, I'd have to guess that part by itself took me 3 hours, as the mane was being a pain in the arse. The eye didn't take very long, but finding his accessories sure did. I finally settled on different horns then I would have liked, as I couldn't find any curling ram horns at the right angle.

He was supposed to have wings, but they came out as an epic fail, and I wrote them off.

Then came the background challenge. I didn't want anything that would really hide his overflowing tails and feathers. I also wanted something that would show up close. A cliff was suggested to me by a friend since he was mountain goat in him. I tried a few different ones, and finally settled on this one. Which was also my first successful time blending a background. And I thought the bones made a nice touch, along with the curling white glow-y things around his horns.

After that it was a LOT of tweaking. After being OCD about it for a week I finally decided it was complete. I'm pretty dang happy with it.

Steve is going to be my dA character, as I doubt I could find an RP site he'd be allowed on. So if anyone wants to do fanart, this is the guy you do it of. -hinthint-
